In response to your queries regarding our experiences at Beretta USA with the lubricant MILITEC-1, I can submit the following observations.

First, I should indicate that I have functioned for a number of years as the training coordinator and as a member of the teaching staff at BUSA In this capacity, I have worked with hundreds of military and state and federal law-enforcement armorers and instructors responsible for the maintenance of Beretta weapons. I have also worked closely as an associate and supervisor of the Beretta service department.

I have had the opportunity through the years to use and distribute samples of MILITEC-1. BUSA gunsmiths have used it extensively in their work, and even employed it as a protective treatment on a unique set of shotguns valued at more than $500,000. Many of the armorers who have received samples have adopted the product, including the entire Maryland and Pennsylvania State Police forces. Those agencies have determined that using MILITEC-1 exclusively prevents jams in their officers' weapons, thus saving both officers' and citizens' lives. I believe the Marine Corps would achieve the same benefits by using MILITEC-1.

While Beretta's official policy has always been one of not formally endorsing a simple lubricant, in my personal, professional opinion, MILITEC-I is the best of the many modern lubricants that we have used in the last eight years. MILITEC-1 alone enables our weapons to operate at their optimal performance level. My advice to any customer seeking the best performance for his weapon is to use MILITEC-1 exclusively.

Our armorers' manuals recommend against using a CLP-type product. Instead, a well-cleaned weapon should be treated with a quality lubricant, particularly MILITEC-1.
